Future of Park Orchards Farmer’s Market Assured
The Lions Club of Park Orchards Inc (Lions) has recently reached an agreement with the Park Orchards Ratepayers Association Inc (PORA) to take over sole operation and management of the Park Orchards Farmer’s Market.
Since 2010, both organisations have worked co-operatively to ensure the success of the Market in creating benefit for the community of Park Orchards.
On March 19 2016, Lions President Ian Sutton and PORA President Matt Wagenfeld signed off on the joint agreement that will see the Market’s future assured under Lions management.
Lions will assume full operation from the April 2016 market, and aims to continue to enhance the value of the Market to the community, by bringing the full resources of Lions to create improvements in marketing, stall holder participation and product quality and variety.
Since the Lions Club of Park Orchards was founded in 1977, Lions members have continued to serve the community in many ways. Net proceeds of the Farmer’s Market will be applied to Lions Club projects supporting those in need.
The Park Orchards Farmers Market is held on the 3rd Saturday each month (except January).
